STOCKTON - In a continued commitment to assist multicultural homeowners in neighborhoods hardest hit by the foreclosure crisis, the Alliance for Stabilizing our Communities will return to the Stockton area to host a Home Rescue Fair to assist households at risk of foreclosure.

3rd Annual 'RED Day' set to lend a hand in Stockton May 12

STOCKTON - Keller Williams Realty associates may be taking the day off on Thursday, May 12, but it will hardly be a day of rest. Associates with the Keller Williams Realty Central Valley have chosen to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, one of the biggest events in the real estate industry.

Short for “Renew, Energize and Donate,” RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of service. As part of the RED Day effort, Keller Williams Realty Central Valley has chosen to spend the day with Boggs Tract Community Center at 533 South Los Angeles Street.

Boggs Tract Community Center is a non-profit organization that supports its community (including 8 zip codes) with Senior, Youth and Community Services.

City accepting applications for Redevelopment Commission vacancies

STOCKTON - The City of Stockton is currently accepting applications for four vacancies on the seven-member Redevelopment Commission/Relocation Appeals Board. The vacancies are the result of the term expirations of members on March 31, 2011.

The term of office is four years and will commence upon appointment and run through March 21, 2015. All applicants must reside in Stockton and may not hold any public office or position of employment with the City of Stockton. The application deadline is March 14 at 6 p.m.

The commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Redevelopment Agency, making recommendations about urban renewal and redevelopment project areas, advises on physical plans for each project area including the selection of purchasers and developers, as well as makes recommendations for the contract of services and site improvements.

Meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month at 5 p.m.

Central Valley Association of Realtors honors Stocktonian of the year

STOCKTON - Central Valley Association of REALTORS (CVAR) Stockton Council together with Greater Chamber of Commerce, are proud to present the 57th Annual Stocktonian of the YEAR. The event takes place Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. at Stockton Golf and Country Club, located at 3800 Country Club Boulevard. This event honors outstanding people in our community that support civic organizations and charitable causes.

Stockton resident John Quinn is this year's award recipient. Quinn is credited with a lot of charitable work including, helping Transitional Learning Center for the homeless children get money to move to a new school, gave a fire truck, worked with Hospice of San Joaquin, Asparagus festival and more. Quinn is also the president and CEO of Food 4 Less and Rancho San Miguel Stores in Stockton.
