Kings take second look at Stockton's Nunnally
News

SACRAMENTO, CA - While the Sacramento Kings held a late pre draft workout with projected first round picks Moe Harkless and Arnett Moultrie, Stockton native James Nunnally was given another opportunity to showcase his talents.

Nunnally, who attended Weston Ranch High School before playing at U.C. Santa Barbara admitted he brought a different approach to his second workout. He's also worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors.

As a senior, Nunnally averaged 16 points, on 47 percent shooting and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Nunnally has remained in Sacramento while playing in the Sacramento Pro Developmental league at Rancho Cordova's Capital Christian High School. He is also working with local basketball guru Guss Armstead.

Sacramento currently owns the fifth pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, and trade winds swirling around Sacramento, Harkless and Moultrie certainly aren't projected to go that high.

ESPN reported on Sunday that the Kings were in discussions with the Houston to trade the fifth pick in exchange for point guard Kyle Lowry and possibly their 14th or 16th pick. Lowry even tweeted "it's been real" on Sunday after the rumor spread like wildfire throughout social media.

For Harkless, the 19-year-old small forward from St. John's Monday's Kings workout would be his last before the draft on Thursday. He said that his Sacramento tour stop wasn't scheduled until late last week.

Harkless compared himself to Paul George of the Indiana Pacers, due to his athletic ability, but he said he hears comparisons to Trevor Ariza and Rudy Gay as well. He averaged 15.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game during his only season at St. John's.

Moultrie was not made available during the post workout media session due to an unknown injury. Team personnel would not comment on what happened, but a source said Moultrie hurt his ankle.

Moultrie is a 6-foot-11 big-man from Mississippi State who has a 7-foot-5 wingspan. He averaged a double-double with 16.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as a junior.

Also participating in Monday's workout were Darryl Bryant (West Virginia), Zack Rosen (Pennsylvania) and Augustus Gilchrist (South Florida).

Presently, the Kings do not have any other last minute workouts scheduled before Thursday's draft.
