GREAT HANG UP: A new anti-texting app features a Clovis, California teen singer.
16-year old Ryan Beatty says he is happy to spread the word about the dangers of texting and driving. Teen star Justin Bieber also backs an anti-texting app from PhoneGuard and has said for teens, it's all about the apps.
There are dozens of apps on the market, many free, some with a charge for more bells and whistles that block texts.
This latest app with Beatty is called "It Can Wait" and blocks incoming texts and can send an auto-reply that the driver is driving. It can also block most incoming calls.
The app is free for At&T users.
In an effort to reach teens News10 will also set up a Great Hang Up table at the High School Sports Game of the Week.
This Friday August 24th Melissa Crowley will be live at the Elk Grove versus Lincoln at Stockton game on Alexandria. You could win a pizza from Papa Murphy's for taking the pledge.
