Suspected killer arrested in Stockton motel homicide | Crime

STOCKTON, CA - The man police believe to be responsible for killing 19-year-old William Heard at a Stockton motel on Tuesday, was arrested on Wednesday.

Detective Joe Silva of the Stockton Police Dept. said detectives amassed information from the N. El Dorado Street homicide connecting 25-year-old Cordero Currington to the murder.
Detectives passed the information along to the newly formed Community Response Team (CRT) who unsuccessfully sought out Currington, said Silva.
At 10:30 p.m. the same night, Currington turned himself in to CRT Officers at the Stockton Police Dept.
Currington, a Stockton transient, was subsequently booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on homicide charges, said Silva.
No information was provided on the motive behind the killing.
