STOCKTON, CA - Stockton's recent two-day crime crackdown yielded an apprehension in two gold necklace robberies.

Police Officer Joseph Silva said Maurice Johns, 19, was arrested Friday for a strong-armed gold chain theft on the 3500 block of S. Manthey Road on March 21 and an armed gold necklace robbery on the 200 block of E. Main Street on March 24. In the second case, there was more than one victim.

Johns was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of robbery and receiving stolen property.

A week ago, police said since March, they had received 43 reports regarding from victims having gold chains being pulled off their necks.
