Police: Thugs assault clerk, rob Stockton Quick Stop | Crime
STOCKTON, Calif. - Stockton police are seeking the public's help in identifying the individuals caught on a store surveillance camera robbing a convenience store and assaulting the clerk.
Officer Joe Silva of the Stockton Police Department said a clerk at the Quick Stop on the 3500 block of W. Hammer Ln. called police at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, claiming to have been assaulted and robbed by a group of thugs.
According to Silva, the clerk told police two men had entered the store attempting to buy cigarettes. When the clerk asked for ID, the men became angry and left the store. About a minute later, they returned, assaulted the clerk, took some cigarettes and ran outside.
The individuals then returned to the store accompanied by several other men and a woman. The four men hit the clerk again, took more more cigarettes and merchandise, and then fled, Silva said.
The suspected robbers were described as four white men between the ages of 18 and 20 years old. Each had a medium build and wore dark clothing.
The woman was described as white and in her 20s.
Silva said the loss to the store was estimated at $300.
