Woman wounded in Stockton shooting
Crime

STOCKTON, CA - A woman was shot in the arm in a west Stockton neighborhood Wednesday evening.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. near Warren and Bristol avenues, Stockton police Officer Joe Silva said.

The woman was taken to the hospital to get treatment for the gunshot wound.

Neighbors said there've been four or five shootings in the area that they blame on gang violence. Police said a shooting in the area about a month ago was gang-related, but they're still trying to find a motive for the shooting Wednesday night.

Neighbor Crystal Martin said she heard the gunshots and grabbed her 6 month old son out of his crib in the front of their house and carried him to the back of the house.
