STOCKTON, CA - A man was found dead in a home north of Stockton in San Joaquin County Friday night after a restaurant employee was handed a note.
San Joaquin County sheriff's Deputy Les Garcia said someone walked into a restaurant on Charter Way around 10 p.m., handed a note to an employee and then left.
The note said to call police and have them search a home on the 2400 block of Waterloo Road.
Deputies responded to the address and found a man with a gunshot wound to the head. Garcia said there was no sign of a forced entry, theft or a struggle.
An autopsy conducted Saturday identified the victim as Jorge Eguiluz, 20. The report determined his death was a homicide.
Detectives have taken over the investigation.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office at (209) 468-4400.
